Soon enough, the trainer who replied to his request have made their entrance. Azula, the massive six foot seven hell hound, baring her teeth at the rotom dex that scanned her and swiftly retreated back to its owner. “Easy,” the man mumbled darkly, pulling on of his hands out of his pockets to wave back at the young woman, “Its just registering your species. Chill.” The canine emitted a low grumble, long arrow taped tail twitched like an angry cat.[break][break]

“If you’re looking for Maverick, then yes.” The burned scarred man called back, hand returning back to his pocket after greeting gesture had been recognized. He moved towards her casually, Azula stalling by his side and scenting out this new stranger all the while. “I thought I would be a good place,” he replied once closer to the woman, his tone husky but smooth, “It has plenty of room.” Crimson colored turned to shifted over the abandoned warehouse, nose crinkled as a gust of wind kicked up some loose debris and dirt into the air. “Guess… It’s a little dirty though.”[break][break]

His gaze shifted back to hers, standing a few feet before her now. “Azula here gained a new ability,” he started, pausing to pull out a hand and gesture to the canine before his hand returned to his pocket, “and I would like to test it out. That’s why we are here. Are you okay with battling her today?” A brow rose curiously, eyeing her up seeing as she was a mere teenager and he a close to middle age adult. Did she have any pokemon that could handle her?

Did she really think that Maverick was going to kidnap her?

This really threw the man off-guard, his once placid and emotionless mask shifted into astonishment. He wasn’t surprised of her wariness when she first laid eyes on him. After all, look at him. He’s covered in burn scars! This was a normal reaction that the man had gotten use to over the many years of his life. Most due find him intimidating or at least, have an air of caution to them at the sight of him. And given Azula’s appearance, she doesn’t help either. Yet kidnapping her, that was a bit much. However, Maverick wouldn’t know what a kidnapper would look like. He’s not a young woman, and has never been put in that situation. Guess… that was in her right to be wary of him.[break][break]

Either way, the young woman agreed after he explained his reasons and even summoned a pokemon she thought could handle his massive hell hound. The pink ribbons known as sylveon was revealed, warm crimson colored orbs shifted from the fairy type to the little blonde girl. Fairy type’s wasn’t his fancy, yet he would be ashamed to admit he was familiar with this species. He had a shiny one after all.[break][break]

His gaze shifted to look at Azula in the corner of his eyes, arms folded over his chest as he nodded towards the foe. “Good enough for you,” he mumbled, his emotionless mask returning. The houndoom lifted her nose into the air, nostrils flared to scent out her potential foe. A low growl rattled in her chest, stepping forward to accept the challenge. Although the ex gym leader didn’t show, relief washed over him. She was so picking about her opponents.[break][break]

“Alright then,” the man grumbled, turning to walk a battlefield distance away, “Let’s see what they can do.” Once a good distance away, the short black haired man turned and faced them. “Give them hell Azula.” On that cue, the massive six foot seven canine intense gaze locked into her new foe through her rapidash skull that was one her own. Ebony lips lifted, revealing her nice set of sharp pearly whites at the feline. A dark menacing snarl ripped through her throat, attempting to intimidate her foe to pre gauge how this battle will turn out. With her ready, Maverick’s shoulder rose and fell in a shrug. “You can go first.”[break][break]

Maverick wasn’t sure what he was expecting from the young woman that agreed to amuse him for this quick sparing match. She seemed still very nervous about the whole thing, and perhaps inexperienced in battles unless he was reading her wrong. Yet as soon as he gave her the go ahead to start, the woman began to throw up some kind of hand gestures or symbols in rapid session. Gang signs, maybe? Or it could be, sign language. Was the sylveon deaf?[break][break]

Whatever the case may be, it worked. The cute little pink fairy type’s mouth opened wide, sending a shockwave of a hyper scream in their direction. Maverick was quick to cover his ears, Azula wasn’t blessed with hands to cover hers. The hellhound staggered back a few paces, head shook violently back and forth as the high pitch sound sent painful waves through her body. A whine escaped her, barring that attack before it was time to move.[break][break]

“Alright. Let’s see how this works. Azula.” The burnt scarred man plucked the tera orbs from his pocket, giving it a few short tossed in his hand before it activated. The orbs shimmered like no tomorrow, casing the abandoned warehouse into brilliant crystal rays of light. And not too shortly after, the houndoom before him began to glow. Soon, her entire frame was covered in a blueish purple crystal. She throw her head back in a howl, shattering the crystalized barrier only for there to be a dragon shaped crown on her head. She bared her teeth at her foe, eyes took on the same color of the dragon tera shard.[break][break]

Behind her, Maverick watched in both awe and skepticism. This terstallization or whatever they are calling it was awfully flashy. Then again, aren’t most power ups flashy in some way. Interesting. “Go on. Sludge bomb.” The canine took in a deep breath, the taste of toxic sludge in her throat. And only a minute later, muzzle parted to send out multiple glops of poison at her opponent. Maverick merely watched, trying to learn as much as he could from this battle.[break][break]

This new terstallization was something else. Something Maverick still need to learn. And if his information was correct, the houndoom that was fire and dark should be of a pure dragon typing now as indicated by the strange dragon crystal hat thing on her head. This could be both good and bad in some situations. If against a foe that she was normally weak too, this new trying could give her immunes she didn’t have once before. However, there was also downsides to this. In cases like this little sparring match, being a dragon would mean she takes more damage from her foe. How interesting.[break][break]

Crimson colored orbs observed as the dragon houndoom spat thick globs of toxic substance at the sylveon. And to his surprised, they allowed the sludge bomb to hit. Supposedly, having a shard of the same type of a move increases its damage almost like double stab. Unfortunately, Azula didn’t possess any moves of the dragon type nor can she learn one.[break][break]

After the sylveon recovered, it turned to its human and then the woman spoke for it. “Yeah,” the man mumbled, hoping to do a little more testing but there really wasn’t much he could test, “We can be done.” Yeah, he could let the sylveon attack her. But, he already knew dragon’s weaknesses. And as stated before, she doesn’t have a dragon move to test out her power. So yeah. That was it.[break][break]

“Thanks for helping me,” he mumbled nodding for Azula to let loose of the tera. She did so, the crystallization shattering like glass leaving the houndoom back to her normal self. “See you around I guess.” With that, the burnt scarred man left the place. A hand rose to wave farewell as he walked away, the massive hell hound by his side.[break][break]
